Yesterday when I was at the leper colony, I had an amazing moment. I was walking to say goodbye to some ladies that I have been visiting every week and I noticed this lady huddled in a corner grabbing her head. Without thinking, I kneeled down beside her, layed my hand down on her shoulder and in Hindi asked her if she was okay. She only responded with a head bobble signaling ‘no’ and I began speaking to her in English even though I knew she could not understand me. I asked her what was wrong and she started pointing to her head. I immediately started massaging her temples and she closed her eyes and allowed me to just hold her face. Shortly after she opened her eyes and started pointing to her chest telling me that it was troubling her also and then pointed back to her head. I continued massaging her head and then I took a leap of faith and asked her if I could lift her up to our father. She quickly bowed her head and I layed my hands on her and asked for healing and comfort to come to her. After I was done, the woman looked up at me with tears in her eyes and then we just sat hand in hand for a pretty long time.
I truly believe that God was completely present in that moment and took over my every action and word. The whole experience seemed surreal and intimate. I think that it is amazing how our Father showed up in that moment to pour out His love onto that moment. I also am in awe that a Hindi woman was so receptive to me raising her life up to our Daddy for healing.
